The Shire of Murray manages a dedicated camping ground at Herron Point Reserve on the Harvey Estuary. Access to the reserve is from Herron Point Road, Birchmont.
This campground is not pre-bookable and sites are offered on a first come, first served basis. Once all camp sites have been occupied, there are no overflow provisions for campers. A maximum of 25 sites are available. Camping is permitted for a maximum of two nights – except over Western Australian public holidays where four nights are permitted.. Camping fees are payable to the on-site caretaker.
There are sewered toilet facilities and a boat ramp.
BYO water – no power or potable water is available.
BYO firewood – campfires are only permitted at certain times of the year in the fire pits provided.
There is strictly no dump point on site with the nearest facility being located at Pinjarra Williams Road, Pinjarra (adjacent to the Heritage train station).
Herron Point camp sites are regularly full during peak periods, such as school holidays and long weekends.
Dogs are required to be kept on a leash at all times.
